Moving Technician Pay Range $16 to $18 per hr
Job Summary
The Moving Technician is responsible for safely packing, moving, loading, unloading, and
transporting customer contents and materials. This role requires physical labor, attention to
detail, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service while working in
residential and commercial environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Pack, protect, move, and transport customer contents, furniture, equipment, and materials
● Load and unload items from trucks, storage facilities, and job sites
● Wrap, pad, and secure items to prevent damage during transport
● Safely operate moving equipment such as dollies, carts, straps, and hand tools
● Follow established safety procedures, lifting techniques, and company protocols
● Maintain organization and accurate tracking of items during moves and storage
● Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times
● Assist with inventory documentation and labeling of contents
● Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, tools, and work areas
● Perform additional duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without
reasonable accommodation, including:
● Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds
● Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods
● Climbing stairs and working in multi-level residential or commercial properties
● Working in confined spaces, including storage areas and occasional crawl spaces
● Operating hand trucks, dollies, and moving equipment
● Working in varying indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity
Qualifications
● High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
● Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
● Strong attention to safety and detail
● Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
● Ability to pass background check and pre-employment screening, as applicable
Preferred Qualifications
● Prior experience in moving, restoration, warehousing, or logistics
● Familiarity with inventory tracking or contents management systems
● Customer service experience
